ELMS: A Mixed Result for Duqueine Team at Imola

July 6, 2026 – The European Le Mans Series season resumed this weekend at Imola for round three of the championship. Despite claiming another pole position, the #30 car driven by Doriane Pin, Richard Verschoor and Giorgio Roda endured an eventful race, ultimately crossing the line in 7th place.

The team kicked off the weekend with a 5th-place finish in FP1 on Friday morning. Later that day, Giorgio Roda once again set the pace in the Bronze Tests, posting the fastest time with a 1:33.854 lap.

Saturday’s FP2 proved trickier, with the team managing only 10th place.

However, the team bounced back in qualifying: the #30 claimed its second pole position of the season thanks to Giorgio Roda, who set the fastest lap of the session in 1:33.195 — a great result on home soil for the Italian driver.

Race

The start of the 4 Hours of Imola went smoothly for the #30, which held onto the lead. The race itself, though, was marked by numerous incidents and several Safety Car periods. About twenty minutes in, the #30 slipped back to P2.

An hour into the race, Roda ran wide and had to head to the pits for repairs, dropping the #30 down to 12th. But as the laps ticked by and the field reshuffled through the various restarts, the crew steadily fought their way back up the order and into contention for a top-three finish.

With less than an hour to go, the #30 even retook the lead. But during their final pit stop, Richard Verschoor was held up by a mechanical issue that prevented him from rejoining immediately. The lead slipped away, and the #30 ultimately crossed the finish line in 7th place.

“We got off to a strong start with another pole from Giorgio. But the race was hectic, and a few small mistakes cost us a shot at the win. We could have come away with a podium thanks to some great strategy and solid pit stops from the team, but a mechanical problem during our final stop put an end to that. Even so, we’re still well placed in the title fight, so everything’s still possible.” Fabien Lavergne, Team Manager.
