Race
At midday on Saturday, Giorgio Roda got off to an excellent start and immediately took the lead in the class. However, after just fifteen minutes of racing, another car collided with the #30 at Turn 5. Giorgio Roda spun, and the #30 finished at the bottom of the category.
The Italian driver managed to fight his way back up to eighth place before returning to the pits to hand over the wheel to Richard Verschoor. The Dutchman then began his stint, but a door-locking issue forced him to make another pit stop on the very next lap. The #30 car rejoined the race in eleventh position, with its chances of a podium finish seriously compromised.
Doriane Pin then took the wheel for the final stint. Despite the team’s efforts to climb back up the order, the #30 crossed the finish line in seventh place in the LMP2 PRO/AM class.
“We’ve performed really well all week. The race had started well for us, but unfortunately, the incident at Turn 5 saw us drop to the bottom of the class. It’s very difficult to overtake on this circuit, so that really penalised us for the rest of the race. The door locking problem at the start of Richard’s stint forced us to make another pit stop, which effectively ended our title hopes,” Fabien Lavergne, Duqueine Team’s Team Manager.
