🚗 DUQUEINE Team in Master Endurance Legends: A Promising Season
Since the start of the 2022 Master Endurance Legends season, DUQUEINE Team has consistently secured podium finishes. With the blue and red Ligier JSP2, driven by Stuart Wiltshire, the team boasts an impressive record:
✅ 4 podiums in the overall standings
✅ 7 podiums in the LMP2 class
On the weekend of August 14-15, the team competed in the 4th round of the championship at the iconic Nürburgring circuit. Once again, Stuart Wiltshire demonstrated that passion and determination can rival experience.
🏁 Race 1: A Fierce Duel Against a Le Mans Legend
During qualifying, Stuart made a statement by securing pole position, an incredible achievement against experienced competitors, including Marco Werner, a three-time Le Mans winner.
🚦 A Strong Start
📍 Stuart led the race from lap 1 to the penultimate lap, resisting intense pressure from Werner but making a small mistake that cost him victory.
🔹 A fierce battle until the last lap
🔹 An impressive performance against a motorsport legend
🔹 A well-deserved 2nd place
🎙️ Stuart Wiltshire’s reaction after the race:
“It was really tough inside the cockpit. I’m a 57-year-old amateur, and Marco is a legend. But this is my first season, and I love the challenge.”
🔥 Race 2: A Strategic Battle and Another Podium
The Race 1 results determined the starting grid for Race 2, with Stuart starting 2nd, just behind Werner and his Lola B12/80.
🏎️ A high-stakes race
From the very first lap, the top three cars were locked in a tight battle. Werner gained a slight lead until the pit stops.
🔹 A game-changing pit stop
On lap 10, both Werner and Wiltshire pitted at the same time. The German driver had to serve his elite driver penalty, allowing Stuart to overtake.
💥 An intense finish
📍 After Trautwein briefly took the lead, Stuart reclaimed 2nd place following Werner’s drive-through penalty.
📍 The Ligier JSP2 crossed the finish line in 2nd place, securing another strong result for DUQUEINE Team.
🎙️ Stuart’s words after the race:
“I was just holding on for dear life! These conditions really aren’t for me. If they ever introduce an Arctic championship, I’ll be the first to sign up!”
🏆 A Season Full of Ambition for DUQUEINE Team
With these back-to-back podiums, DUQUEINE Team and Stuart Wiltshire continue to showcase their exceptional performance in Master Endurance Legends. Each race presents new challenges, but the team proves that passion and skill can match the experience of motorsport’s greatest drivers.
