🏁 DUQUEINE Team: A Promising Start to ELMS 2022

The ELMS 2022 season officially kicked off at the Paul Ricard Circuit, marking the first round of the championship. Competing in LMP2, DUQUEINE Team showed promising performance despite a race filled with challenges.

🚀 A Positive Start During the Prologue

Before the race, teams had the opportunity to fine-tune their setups during the official Prologue.
👉 The Oreca #30 impressed by setting the second-fastest time in Tuesday night’s session.
👉 The first official practice sessions allowed the team to refine the optimal race setup.

These performances hinted at a competitive weekend ahead!

⏱️ Qualifying: A Missed Opportunity

Young driver Reshad De Gerus participated in his first endurance qualifying session.
💨 Fast and competitive, he was on track to improve his lap time…
🚩 But a red flag interrupted his efforts, leaving him 12th on the grid—far from the car’s true potential.

🏎️ A Race Full of Potential

At the start of the 4 Hours of Castellet, Memo Rojas used his experience to navigate the tricky opening hour and manage traffic efficiently.

🔹 Strong stint from Reshad De Gerus:

  • For his first ELMS race, the young Réunionese driver made a strong impression.

  • He battled fiercely with Jack Aitken and Patrick Pilet for P6!

🔹 Richard Bradley at the finish:

  • As the team aimed for a top 10 finish, a puncture caused by debris forced the Oreca #30 to pit.

  • Final result: P12, far from their initial expectations.

🎯 Imola: The Next Challenge for DUQUEINE Team

💪 Despite a frustrating result, DUQUEINE Team has proven its competitiveness.
The French squad will do everything possible to fight for top positions at the next race in Imola.

See you in Italy for the next round of the European Le Mans Series!

Memo ROJAS

Memo ROJAS:

It’s a bit of a disappointing result because we had the pace to finish sixth. The puncture, caused by a piece of debris, cost us a lot and made us finish 12th.

But the team did a great job. We still have a lot to do before Imola to hope for a good result there.

Reshad DE GERUS

Reshad DE GERUS:

This first discovery in endurance went very well for me. I’m really happy with how the weekend went. Unfortunately, we were unlucky in qualifying with the red flag. We had a good race, but the punctures deprived us of a potential Top 6.

We’ll keep working to get to Imola as ready as possible to fight at the front of the race.

Richard BRADLEY

Richard BRADLEY:

I think we had the potential to achieve something. Obviously, the red flag in qualifying didn’t help us. But, my teammates did a fantastic job in the race to get the car back to sixth.

We had a good chance to finish in the top 6 until, unfortunately, a flat tire, caused by a piece of debris, occurred. We had to make an unscheduled pit stop.

Still, we can be proud of our weekend and I think we can look forward to a successful season.
