Read the post Back to the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe for the 94th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Duqueine Team demonstrated its potential at the highest level of endurance racing.
The Duqueine D08 once again proved its engineering excellence and reliability in the 2025 IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge.
Fielded by Gebhardt Motorsport, the D08 dominated the LMP3 (P3) category thanks to the outstanding performances of Valentino Catalano and Oscar Tunjo.
This season will be remembered as a benchmark year for DUQUEINE Automotive.
From the very first rounds, Valentino Catalano established himself as the man to beat.
With eight victories, he secured the 2025 VP Racing Challenge LMP3 title, driving an impeccable Duqueine D08.
At the double-header finale in Road Atlanta, Catalano finished second in the opening race behind teammate Oscar Tunjo, virtually sealing the title before the final event.
He then claimed victory in the closing race, demonstrating his mastery, consistency, and the flawless reliability of the D08.
“The D08 was perfect all season — a joy to drive,” said Catalano after clinching his championship.
Colombian driver Oscar Tunjo was one of the key players of the season.
He won the opening round at Road Atlanta, then conquered Mid-Ohio in the rain — a race that showcased both his talent and the D08’s versatility.
Constantly among the frontrunners, Tunjo maintained intense pressure on his teammate, helping Gebhardt Motorsport dominate the standings.
During the final race, Tunjo led until the very last lap before an incident allowed Catalano to take the win — a thrilling battle that perfectly reflected the competitiveness of the Duqueine D08.
Designed and built by DUQUEINE Automotive, the D08 remains a benchmark prototype in the LMP3 category.
The result of years of technical refinement, it combines:
Ultra-rigid carbon chassis,
Optimized aerodynamic balance,
Naturally aspirated V8 engine,
Proven reliability and drivability.
These features have made the D08 a championship-winning car worldwide, with multiple victories and podiums to its name.
The year 2025 marked a historic milestone for DUQUEINE Automotive.
While the D08 continued to dominate in IMSA, its successor, the Duqueine D09, made a spectacular debut in Europe.
Competing in both the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) and the Michelin Le Mans Cup, the D09 quickly demonstrated its outstanding potential, going on to win the 2025 Michelin Le Mans Cup.
Powered by a turbocharged V6 engine, the D09 embodies DUQUEINE’s next generation of LMP3 design — combining aerodynamic efficiency, enhanced structural rigidity, and precision handling.
At the same time, the D08 remains very much alive.
It will continue racing in 2026, beloved by teams for its stability, reliability, and proven performance.
In 2026, both the D08 and D09 will share the grid — a symbol of DUQUEINE’s seamless evolution and commitment to racing excellence.
The 2025 VP Racing SportsCar Challenge confirmed the supremacy of the Duqueine D08 and the strength of the Catalano–Tunjo duo under Gebhardt Motorsport.
At the same time, the Duqueine D09 proved its worth by winning the Michelin Le Mans Cup in Europe — a stunning debut for the new generation.
With two complementary prototypes excelling across continents, DUQUEINE Automotive has reinforced its global leadership in LMP3 racing and laid the groundwork for an even more ambitious future.
